The Friends of Hanover Norwich Schools has been instrumental in enriching the educational experience at Marion Cross School, providing essential support for initiatives like the soup bar, theater program, classroom and remedial reading materials, and guest speakers. Their contributions have funded valuable resources, including EPIC on-line books, the K-6 Science Lab, and whole school presenters, which enhance learning across all grade levels. We are deeply grateful for their generous support, as it has a profound impact on our students, fostering creativity, curiosity, and a well-rounded education that would not be possible without their continued commitment.
- Shawn Gonyaw, Marion Cross School Principal
As a grateful recipient of two FHNS grants, I can attest that the generous support of the Friends has immensely impacted my ability to offer students unique and engaging educational experiences. In 2023, the Friends helped me transform an underutilized classroom space into a functioning lab that now serves all students in K-6. In short, lots of scientific exploration and fun experiences in learning!
- Chrissy Morley, MCS Experiential and Environmental Education Coordinator
I so appreciate all of the support we receive from FHNS. Today I was observing a class in our beautiful black box theater classroom that was largely funded by FHNS. One of many shining examples around our school go your direct impact on learning at RMS.
- Mike Lepene, RMS Science Teacher
Through open exploration at the "Tinker Table" students are able to learn about foundational concepts of programming, design, engineering, and invention in a way that is fun and meaningful to them. With our world of standardized testing and new national standards in science, math, and technology, I find it increasingly important for students to have time to be creative, work through frustrations, develop prototypes, and overcome challenges. With your support, I have been able to provide students with fun, interactive, real-world applications for their learning and I simply can't thank you enough for your help!
